Scott graduated from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Education in 1985. He currently sits on the University Alumni Board.
Following graduation, Scott was employed by Mid City Bank. He remained at the bank until December of 1990, attaining the position of Assistant Cashier & Branch Manager in charge of operations.
In January of 1991, Scott joined The Harry A. Koch Co. and is a licensed property/casualty, life, and health agent; consultant and broker in over 30 states. He has been awarded the Accredited Advisor in Insurance designation and is currently pursuing his Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter designation, having completed six of the ten courses. He is also a member of the National Association of Surety Bond Producers. Scott specializes in Construction, Manufacturing, School District, and Non-Profit Risk Management. He has been a presenter of risk management topics to groups including, Associated General Contractors, Associated Builders & Contractors, UNMC, UNO, Large Church Risk Managers Association, and The Professional Insurance Agents of Nebraska.
Scott has been married for over 25 years and has 3 children. His past civic activities include serving on the several non-profit boards, including past President and Vice President status in two of them. He is very active in King of Kings Lutheran Church's Student Ministry, and has coached several of his children's sports teams. Scott is also a licensed High School Soccer Referee.
